Pressure-sensitive labeling: how it works
A pressure-sensitive (self-adhesive) labelling machine applies pre-printed labels from a roll directly onto the bottle surface. The label is peeled from its backing and pressed onto the bottle using an applicator pad or roller. This system is fast, accurate, and relatively low-cost to operate. Label material cost is the primary variable operating expense.

Pressure-sensitive labels are peeled from roll and pressed onto bottles at high speed — fast and cost-effective.
Sleeve labeling: how it works
A sleeve labelling machine cuts lengths of pre-printed tubular film and slides them over the bottle. A heat tunnel then shrinks the film tightly around the bottle contour. This gives you a 360-degree label wrap with no gaps, works on irregular bottle shapes, and produces a very premium visual appearance. The trade-off is higher film cost and the need for a heat tunnel.

Sleeve labels wrap 360° around any bottle shape — heat tunnel shrinks film tight for a premium visual finish.
When to use pressure-sensitive labeling
Choose pressure-sensitive labeling for: cylindrical bottles where wrap-around application is clean, flat bottles needing front and back labels, operations with frequent label changeovers, products where label cost must be minimized, and lines where speed is a priority.

Self-adhesive labeling is ideal for cylindrical bottles, frequent changeovers, and cost-sensitive production runs.
When to use sleeve labeling
Choose sleeve labeling for: complex bottle shapes where adhesive labels cannot conform, products requiring full 360-degree visual coverage, high-visual-impact products like premium beverages or cosmetics, tamper-evidence applications, and multi-packs where the sleeve can bundle multiple bottles.

Sleeve labeling on complex or irregular bottle shapes delivers premium shelf presence and full 360° branding coverage.
Can you run both
Some production lines run sleeve labeling for one product range and pressure-sensitive labeling for another. This is common in companies with both consumer and industrial product lines. Origin Makina engineers both sleeve labeling machines and pressure-sensitive labeling machines, and can integrate both into a complete line design.

Dual-label line configurations are common when producers serve both retail and industrial markets simultaneously.
